How to set up a Linksys WET54G Eternet Bridge to connect to a public hotspot
To set up this device through a public acces point was not as easy as I thought. Had to go to the Linksys forum pages to get an idea how to proceed. Got some good help from a member called RVTraveler who came up with a detailed procedure to connect.

The idea is to use an antenna to connect the coax cable to the WET54G and use a Ethernet cable to the computer that you want to connect to the Internet.

The problem is: How do I set up the WET54G to receive an IP address from the hotspot and at the same tim be able to access it to select the hotspot? The solution is to reset the WET54G (it's default IP address is 192.168.1.226), set your computer to the same IP range (i.e. 192.168.1.227) to be able to access the setup page. When accessing the setup page for the WET54G, select DHCP to let the device get an IP address from the public hotspot, select the name to connect to, exit and set your computer to DHCP.
Quick procedure to set up the WET54G:

* Reset the WET54G by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds.

* Set up your computer to a fixed IP address: 192.168.1.227, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and default gateway to 192.168.1.1.

* Access the WET54G setup page by typing 192.168.1.226 in your web browser. The default user name is blank and the default password is admin. If this does not log you in, try using admin for both username and password (I had to do this).

* On the first page, select Use DHCP.

* Select the survey button to see all available access points and select the one you want to use.

* Save the setup and exit the WET54G.

* Change your TCP/IP setting for your computer to DHCP.

* You should now be able to connect to the Internet.

Note: You have now lost the connection to the WET54G (you dont't really know what IP address it has been given). So to access the setup page again, you have to do this procedure from the top.

If anybody have any idea how to access the WET54G setup page without resetting it, I would appreciate very much your information.
The setup as described:
